Sunday, September 27

FiberArtsFeeling

If your sprouts are past those dates, they should already be gone.

CoconutCritique

But some people might have frozen them or something?

SteepedinSarcasm

Freezing doesn't kill Salmonella, unfortunately.

UnreliableNarratorIRL

This is going to hurt the local sprout farmers who did nothing wrong.

GyroscopicGriefs

True, collateral damage is always tough in these recalls.

VibrantlyVague

I hope the FDA finds the exact source of the contamination soon.

DarkMatterMatters

Was it the water supply or the seeds themselves?

UpvotedIntoOblivion

Usually, it's the seeds that carry the bacteria initially.

TropicalByNature

I'm sharing this with my mom, she loves her daily sprout smoothie.

PrideAndPrejudicePosting

Please do, elderly people are at higher risk for severe infection.

BlackHoleEnthusiast

The symptoms last 4 to 7 days, which is miserable.

GlazedAndConfused

I had Salmonella once, never want to go through that again.

RamenRomantic

Hydration is key if you do get it.

CulturalArbitrager

Does anyone have a link to the official FDA recall page?

MoonPhaseMatters

It's on the FDA website under outbreaks of foodborne illness.

PeerReviewPanic

I'm glad the agencies are being transparent with the case counts.

SquidGamesNot

96% of interviewed patients reported eating sprouts, that's a strong link.

PillowFortDefender

Let's hope this gets contained before the weekend.

WorldTravelerOnBudget

I'm switching to cooked vegetables for a while.

OveranalyzeEverything

Stay safe everyone and check your fridge!
